OUR STORY
Dick and Elsie’s Place is named after Dick and Elsie Cole. Dick and Elsie were lifetime residents of Cabot, living most of their marriage on this property.
Their home was a welcoming home, full of family, friends, and fun. They raised two wonderful kids, teaching them to fear God, work hard, and love their family and friends.
When Dick and Elsie passed, their daughter Robin chose to take Dick’s shop and turn it into the Event Center and name it after her parents. She wanted others to experience what she experienced on the property growing up – a place full of family, friends and fun.
In 2019, Robin decided it was time to pass the Event Center on to the next generation of owners who would carry on the family traditions. She found those owners in her longtime family friend Ashley Shearer and her husband Ryan. Now Ryan and Ashley proudly continue on the Cole family traditions. Their goal for everyone who visits Dick and Elsie’s Place is to experience a wonderful time full of family, friends, and fun!

The event center is a heated and cooled 1,500 square foot building with a large open room, a full kitchen, one full bathroom, one half bathroom, and plenty of tables and chairs.
The main event center can easily seat parties of 100. Attached to the Event Center is a 1,500 square foot covered space that can provide a place for an intimate wedding or help accommodate another 75 or more guests.
Behind the event center is a flat open area that can easily hold weddings or outside parties of up to 200 guests. This area backs up to a beautiful tree covered hill giving an amazing back drop for all your events.
Next to the Event Center and in front of Dick and Elsie’s longtime home is plenty of parking for all your family and friends that come to join in on the fun!

We realize weddings, parties, and events can become very expensive. At Dick and Elsie’s Place our goal is to provide you with the best location and rental experience we can at the most competitive price.
We are 100% committed to keeping our rates as reasonable as possible We also offer options to rent our Event Center by the hour, by the day, or by the weekend, giving you the option to rent for the amount of time and expense that fits your event needs and budget.
We also provide discounts on Monday through Thursday rentals. Please call, text, or email us today and ask about our current rates.

Such a lovely and homey place! We had our annual family Christmas gathering there today. 4 generations of our family. We had plenty of room. The venue is clean, well maintained and was decorated for Christmas. There’s a full kitchen and 2 restrooms. We will definitely use this venue for future family functions. Thank you!

We had a surprise birthday party here this weekend and it was just perfect! Everyone (guests were mostly from out town) commented on the venue and how cute it was! The only suggestion they did have, and I didn’t even think about this since I drive by Dick & Elsie’s everyday was the sign at the road needed a light on it for those not familiar with the area. I texted everyone a picture of the sign, but didn’t realize they would be arriving at dark. Everyone bragged on the location!

Ashley is amazing! Held my wedding there October 19th and it was perfect! I absolutely loved the rustic look of the venue and you cant beat the price. I had a surprise 60th birthday party for my husband here. The venue is adorable!! We all had a great time. Ashley is so super sweet!! A monsoon rain came up and things went a bit sideways but we weren't deterred and Ashley felt bad, but she can't help Mother Nature!! I appreciated her concern for her customer. Will definitely go back!!

It was super cute! I attended my nephew's wedding and it was a perfect venue. It's easy to find and had ample parking for this small event. There were around 100 people there and there was enough room for everyone. The kitchen area was great for the reception meal. I recommend this for an intimate gathering.

Recently had our family reunion here. It was a beautiful day outside and our guys fried catfish and the fixings and we all brought desserts. The kitchen was convenient and there are restrooms, of course. There was space for indoor seating and some covered outside too. The front porch was a great spot to sit and rock and we loved the 'tub bed'!
